things to do

Warm Vanilla Sugar Scrub I love sugar scrubs! I just tried this one as game winner gifts for Emily's baby shower! It smells like cookie dough, or basically just like brown sugar. I usually just use a lemon sugar scrub, but it was nice to try something different. I want to do a fruit or a eucalyptus mint one next. But what I really love about this sugar scrub is the coconut oil. Some recipes call for baby oil, and for some reason I think that seems really weird to rub baby oil all over your skin... But coconut oil just seems more natural to me I guess, and I use coconut oil all the time! I rub it on Noah after his baths, and I basically just use it in place of lotion now. So with this sugar scrub it moisturizes your skin as the sugar exfoliates, and so when you are done using it, your skin just feels magically soft! :) I use this scrub on my whole body, and I just leave it in the shower. I use it about every other day, on shave days. I do my normal wash with soap of course, then I shave, and then I do a scrub, a final rinse, and I'm done! You can use it pretty much however you want though! It's also good to use on lips! And it's completely edible. Here is the recipe! I mixed it in the kitchenaid, so it's sort of "whipped" and I used the cookie dough attachment.. I think it's called the paddle? But you can just mix it in a regular bowl with a spoon too. 1 cup brown sugar 1/2 cup granulated sugar 1/2 cup coconut oil 1 Tbsp vanilla extract (I might do a little less coconut oil next time...haven't decided) I also tripled this recipe to fill six 4oz mason jars, and there was a little left over that I stored in a tupperware.
